What's Is Pinoy Guitar Mass?

Much like a Folk Mass, a guitar mass is an easy-to-learn and easy-to-sing list of liturgical music for use in the celebration of Sacred Liturgy, in particular, the Holy Mass. The collection you will find on this site are original works that were written since the early 1980's at the St. Augustine Major Seminary, Tagaytay City and published in the hymnal, SASMASSONGS/MISASMA (1983) for use of the seminarians of that period. Quite a few songs also made it to the publication of HOSANNA, VOLUME 3 (1983), published by the Archdiocesan Commission on Liturgical Music (ACLM), then the governingliturgical body of the Archdiocese of Manila, Philippines.

Over the years, additional songs have been written that haven't found their way to the airwaves nor book publications. With the advent of the internet, mp3 sites and the popularity of social medias nowadays have brought some kind of revival to these dormant songs.
